Art Assistant
The Lutheran Home now has a Four Season’s Art Studio. We are looking for individuals who are interested in working with older adults on a variety of creative projects. Volunteers must be compassionate, thoughtful, and interested in being a part of a creative and therapeutic environment that fosters meaningful connections and community.
Beauty Shop Volunteer
Going to the beauty shop is the highlight of our residents’ week! Volunteers transport residents to and from the beauty shop and help with towel folding and other basic tasks. Volunteers are needed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. It is preferred that volunteers make a commitment of one day per week, however, an on-call list is available for those unable to do so.
Bingo Volunteer
Help our residents enjoy one of their favorite pastimes! Transport residents to Bingo, assist residents in hearing the numbers or placing their chips, and return residents back to their rooms. Volunteers are needed on Mondays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Chapel Volunteer
Can you take one Sunday a month to enjoy a Chapel Service with our residents? Transport residents to our beautiful in-house Chapel, enjoy the service, and visit with the residents as you take them back to their floor. Volunteers are needed on Sundays from 9:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. This is a great opportunity for a church group or a family wishing to volunteer.
Comfort Care Volunteer
Visit and support residents who may be in the last phase of their lives, offering emotional and spiritual support that is respectful of each resident’s religious practices and faith preferences. Comfort Care volunteers will receive specialized training through the Chaplaincy Department that will assist them in being with residents at end of life.
Entertainment Transporter
Get your exercise while helping others! Volunteers needed to assist the Recreational Therapy department in transporting residents to and from in-house entertainment programs each Thursday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Besides transporting residents to and from the program, volunteers also get to enjoy all the wonderful entertainment!

Lutheran Home Auxiliary
The Lutheran Home Auxiliary is a volunteer organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the Lutheran Home residents by raising funds to assist with activities and needed equipment. Annual events include a kickoff luncheon, Christmas Tea, Summer Ice Cream Social, and an annual outing. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month from Sept. through June.
Mail Delivery Volunteers
Help our residents receive their mail on a timely basis. Sort the mail by unit and floor, and then deliver mail to resident rooms. Basic office skills are a plus, as well as a commitment to serving at least one day per week.
One-to-One Visitor
Provide companionship to our residents by making conversation, playing games, doing puzzles, listening to music, reading, or taking walks while enjoying each others company and becoming friends. This is a very rewarding and flexible position.
Pet Therapy Volunteer
If you have a dog or cat that has gone through a pet therapy program and is a certified therapy dog or cat, we would love for both of you to join our pet therapy team. Visit with our residents while listening as they share their own stories about their family pets, and bring a smile to the faces of everyone you visit.
Physical Therapy Volunteer
If you like to keep moving, this volunteer opportunity is for you! Assist our in-house physical therapy department by transporting residents to and from their appointments. Meet and get to know rehab patients who are actively participating in their own recovery.
Recreational Activities Volunteer
Assist our Recreational Therapy department in transporting and engaging residents in activities – from Bingo, music programs, crafts to themed parties – there is always something in store. We also need volunteer assistance with our many trips – festivals, boating, shopping, scenic rides, and museums are just a few of the exciting trips we plan for our residents.
Resident Bio Volunteer
Volunteer will visit new residents that move in on our skilled nursing units and talk with them about their interests, likes, hobbies, favorite things, etc. to form a bio that our staff will put together. The volunteer will have a form of questions to follow/fill out while they are doing this. It also gives the volunteer a chance to get to know the residents. The schedule is on their own time!
Sewing Room Merchandise Organizer
If you love clothing and enjoy working with the elderly, this volunteer opportunity is for you. Volunteers are needed to aid in the process of sorting our donated apparel into sizes and styles, as well as folding and hanging clothing for display, arranging jewelry, helping to keep the shop tidy, and other miscellaneous duties. During store hours (Tues. and Thurs. from 1:00 p.m.-2 p.m.), greet and assist residents in their selection of clothing and jewelry. Volunteer must be comfortable with and respectful of the elderly. Organization skills are important.
