Structured daily activities including physical and memory exercises, social events, art classes, music, community outings, games, and pet therapy are just a few of the activities that occur on a regular basis.
In addition to all our regularly scheduled activities and outings, we provide unparalleled intergenerational programming. Children from the Lutheran Home Children’s Center enjoy various activities with their grandfriends on a regular basis. Intergenerational programming promotes educational objectives, arts and recreation interests, desired states of health and welfare, and religious and spiritual well-being. Furthermore, intergenerational programs have been found to diminish ageist stereotypes, strengthen communities, and lead to improved services for children, youth and older adults.
Lutheran Home is proud to be nationally recognized for providing the finest in intergenerational programming. Our designation as a certified Program of Distinction by Generations United is based on our community’s history of effectively delivering high-quality intergenerational programming well above the national standard, and for consistently engaging participants, both young and old, to express themselves artistically, join in creative collaboration, and form new friendships across generations.
