Wellness Clinic

Harwood’s Wellness Clinic is run and staffed by a registered nurse.

Clinic Hours:

Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., no appointments needed.

Free services provided:

  • Blood pressure checks and tracking
  • Medical advice can be given
  • Small wound treatments
  • Weight checks

Charged services provided:

  • Vitamin B12 injections given
  • Sharps collection
  • Some over the counter medications are sold


How to Get Started

The first step to become involved in wellness programming is to have a basic fitness screening called a senior fitness assessment. The assessment helps determine a resident’s current lower body and upper body strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, and flexibility. Once the assessment is completed with the wellness coordinator, the resident becomes eligible to do be involved in classes and wellness activities. Senior fitness testing can be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. or by appointment. Residents are eligible for personal training or guided exercise programs once they have completed their Senior Fitness Assessment.


Harwood Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day for residents and their guests.

A wellness coordinator provides supervised exercise hours Tuesdays from noon -4:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

  • Fitness center orientations are provided at this time or by private appointment.

  • Dumbbell and ankle weights
  • Leg press/Multi-press
  • 1 medical treadmill
  • 1 recumbent bicycle
  • 3 recumbent steppers
  • Thera-slide resistance machine

Fitness Classes

Exercise classes include a mix of cardio, strength training, flexibility, and balance. Resistance bands, ankle weights, dumbbells, and beach balls are used during these classes.

Learn how to Wii bowl

Wii Bowling groups bowl at various times during the week.

Get Thinking: Memory and Cognition Class

This eight-week class focuses on improving immediate and short-term memory. Includes assessment, workbook, and personalized memory strategy plan. Class meets for one hour once a week. Classes are offered seasonally.
