Child Care
Children’s Center
The Lutheran Home Children’s Center was established in 1991 to provide the opportunity for employees to leave their children in a warm, caring environment. We wanted the best for our own children and have also made the center available to the community.
We believe we can strengthen each family, reducing stresses at home and at work, by providing high quality child care that recognizes each child as a unique individual created by God. We are also committed to the value of a multicultural and intergenerational experience for all children.
Lutheran Home’s Children’s Center is licensed by the state’s Department of Health and Social Services to serve children ages six weeks through twelve years of age. We accept Young Star (Shares) funding. Currently we are a 3 star center, and are working on NAEYC accreditation. As early childhood educators, we recognize that a program’s success is dependent on close relationships between children, staff and parents. Naturally, parents are welcome to stop in at any time and encouraged to participate in all areas of our program.
Age Appropriate Programs
Children need regular daily schedules which are organized, yet flexible. Our programs have sound educational curriculum geared toward each child’s developmental ability. All classrooms participate in intergenerational programs as developmentally appropriate.
Conveniently located in the heart of Wauwatosa, we have a dedicated, secure entrance at the back side of the Lutheran Home campus. Drive up entrance is off 74th Street. Click here for directions to the building.
